The full answer
Nobody can say for sure who the "best" house painter in Butte is. It depends on your job, your budget and when you need it done. My search did turn up a few local painters with good reviews:
- The Works, LLC: One 5-star review on Angi (August 2020) describes an exterior paint and stain job as organized, professional, neat and precise.
- DC Painting LLC: Reviewers call them professional and efficient and say their prices were reasonable next to other bids. The work included pressure washing, prep and stucco repair.
- REI Painting & Home Services: A 5-star review (2019) calls Matt Chandler's team meticulous, dependable and reasonably priced for the quality.
Some of these reviews are several years old, so check how the companies are doing now. To choose one:
- Get 2–3 written bids that list prep work, the paint brand, the number of coats and the warranty.
- Make sure they're registered. Montana requires contractors to register with the Department of Labor & Industry, and you can look them up online. Also ask for proof of liability insurance.
- Ask about lead-safe practices. Butte has many homes built before 1978, so the painter should be EPA RRP (lead-safe) certified.
- Look at recent reviews on Google, Angi and local Facebook groups, and ask neighbors whose paint jobs you like.
- Ask when they can start. Butte's painting season is short, so good painters book up early for summer.
If you tell me whether it's an interior or exterior job, I can help you work out what to ask when you get quotes.
