“Who is the best veterinarian in Whitefish, Montana?”

There's no single "best" vet in Whitefish. It depends on your pet and what you need. Based on Yelp ratings, these are the most frequently recommended clinics in and around town:

In Whitefish

• Alpine Animal Hospital (5820 US Hwy 93 S): 4.3 stars from 12 reviews. Reviewers often say friends referred them there.
• Whitefish Animal Hospital: 4.1 stars from 19 reviews. People describe the staff as very caring.
• All Creatures Veterinary Clinic (325 Lincoln St): 4.0 stars from 18 reviews. It's a newer clinic, and one reviewer noted it fit their dog in on short notice.

Nearby (Columbia Falls and Kalispell area)

• Glacier Animal Hospital (Columbia Falls): 4.4 stars from 27 reviews, open since 1971. It gets especially good comments for cat care.
• Countryside Animal Clinic (15 Miranda Dr): 4.4 stars from 13 reviews. Dr. Hollemans gets a lot of praise.
• Ponderosa Veterinary Hospital and Flathead Veterinary Wellness & Rehabilitation Center also rank well on Yelp.

For emergencies: Flathead Pet Emergency (2564 US Hwy 2 E) is the area's after-hours option.

These ratings are based on a small number of reviews, so they don't tell you much on their own. Before you choose, it's worth:

• Calling a couple of clinics to ask whether they're taking new patients, since many vets in the Flathead Valley are booked up.
• Asking whether they see your type of animal. Some clinics see only cats and dogs, while others also treat exotics or large animals.
• Checking newer Google reviews and asking local Facebook groups for recommendations.
